My name is John Conner and I started painting in early 2009. I simply went to the hobby shop and bought all the supplies I thought I would need. I started looking at others work and trying to recreate it. I found I had a small amount of talent and have been producing about three paintings a week. I only do it in my spare time. I find painting is a great way to relax and wind down after work. My actual job that I make a living from is a police lieutenant in Florida. I have some really nice scenery for inspiration in my painiting from seascapes to serene rivers. I enjoy landscape and abstract painting the most. Basically this is a great hobby and I hope it inspires others to try it. I paint with acrylic only at this time due to the ease of cleanup and the forgiving nature of the paint to fix errors. I plan on trying watercolor and oils in the near future to expand my horizons. Basically I'm just your average Joe who picked up a brush and began painting.
